OUR GO-TO MAKEUP
IDEAS FOR SPRING

PLUS, BEAUTY TIPS FROM OUR RESIDENT MAKEUP EXPERT

With the arrival of spring, comes a chance to revisit your beauty and makeup looks. Out with the cold, dark and dreary and in with the light, bright and cheery—finally. One of our favourite ways to embrace the spirit of warmer days is with a pop of colour on the lips.

Looking for makeup inspiration? Our super-nourishing, 100% vegan feed my lips collection is a great place to start. Below, we’ll break down the differences between the feed my lips lip glosses and lipsticks, as well as check in with our resident Global Artistic Director of Makeup, Janell Geason.

Meet feed my lips

No matter which feed my lips vegan beauty products you go for, you’ll get a formula that’s cruelty-free, ultra moisturising and available in a stunning array of hues. This collection is aromatic and inspiring, beautifully bridging the worlds of beauty and nature.

Looking for a vegan lip balm or lip gloss formula that keeps up with the latest technology in cosmetics? Try our 93% naturally-derived* feed my lips liquid color balm. It’s fueled with our certified organic cupuacu fruit butter and superfruits, making it nourishing and cushiony in texture, while still locking in high-impact colour that lasts all day. The finish is plush-matte, so it has a liquid lipstick feel and offers lip colour that will stay true for at least 8 hours.

If you prefer a vegan lip gloss that brings the shine, we recommend feed my lips pure nourish-mint lip gloss. It’s 98% naturally derived* and visibly plumps lips with all-day moisture and shine. Simply apply any of the seven lightweight shades and you’ll get propelled on a botanical journey. Avocado, mangosteen butter, jojoba, açaí, pomegranate and other vegan ingredients artfully come together to indulge your lips with a kiss of moisture.

Now that we’ve shared the background on these formulas, who better to inspire us further than beauty expert and Aveda Global Artistic Director of Makeup, Janell Geason? Below, we’re sharing her answers to our most-pressing spring beauty questions.

Q: WHICH MAKEUP TRENDS ARE INSPIRING YOU THIS YEAR FOR SPRING?

JG: There are a few spring trends that we are seeing, but what comes to mind immediately is a natural-glam look. I love a natural or bright pop of colour for lips. For eyes and brows, think more eyeliner with fuller, natural feathery brows.

Complexions are looking very natural, with glowing, barely-there colour, so embrace your natural skin! For cheeks, you’ll see them flushed and looking healthy. Overall, makeup is more pared down—it’s working from home, so to speak.

Q: WHICH SPRING LIP COLOUR TRENDS ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT?

JG: One spring look I’m seeing a lot of is something more natural and glossy. It’s also great to see a pop of colour. I like to try this look out in my favourite feed my lips™ pure nourish-mint lip glosses: Sweet Apricot for a fresh peach tone, Hibiscus Dew for shimmer rose gold or Agave for a shimmer bronzey gold. For a bolder pop of colour, I recommend feed my lips pure nourish-mint lipsticks in Cana, Watermelon or Guava.

Q: WHAT LIP COLOUR TECHNIQUES DO YOU RECOMMEND THIS SEASON?

Product image featuring feed my lips collection.

JG: If you’re wearing a face mask, go with our feed my lips pure nourish-mint liquid color balms for added longevity in natural shades or bright pops. Or, you can opt for feed my lips™ pure nourish-mint lipsticks.

My application technique for added longevity is to prime the lips with our feed my lips pure nourish-mint lip primer, blot on your favourite feed my lips pure nourish-mint lipstick as a stain and then finally apply your feed my lips pure nourish-mint lip liner over it.

Q: ANY OTHER FUN INSPIRATION FOR THE WARMER MONTHS?

JG: For me, it’s all about embracing your skin, so keep it light on the foundation, focus on skincare and play up your eyes or your lips.
